Claire at the Peak Again - 14/08/06

Small glacial lakes in fore-ground on Whistler Mnt, and Allta lake at left end of valley, Green lake in far right distance.	Looking longingly across at the ski runs cut into Blackcomb Mnt (from the peak chair)	A lifty's drive to work - almost as bad as the view from their office!
Coming up to some cliffs on the crazy peak chair.	Wishing I hadn't looked down off the crazy peak chair while approaching said cliffs!	A classic shot of a classic Whistler icon with Black Tusk in the background.
Cheakamus Lake on left in background and Black Tusk at far Right	Even lichen is exciting when you're at the peak of Whistler!	Need to get your bearings for the walk down because there's no way you're getting back on the crazy peak chair again.

and lots of little rock piles everywhere.		Interesting colours and shapes in the summer landscape.
	What scenic shot is really complete without self-photographed cheesy grins!	Umm...some large wooden fish. Allegedly guardian of the West in a 4-point motif of the world.

Did I tell you there were lots of these little stone piles - mini inukshuks along the road down from the peak.

Down at the tree line again and a bit closer to Harmony lake; It didn't use to have the black plastic lining sheet - they put that in to help preserve the water for artificial snow making, then found that wildlife were slipping on it when they came to drink and could get out of the lake so they erected an electric fence all the way around the lake to keep out the wildlife. Not so pretty anymore. And the water makes green snow! Oh the folly of it all....
